Primary School Lockers - Firside Junior School

Firside Junior School is a popular primary school in Norwich, Norfolk, with just over 300 pupils from 7 - 11 years old.

The Brief:

Although this was the first time the school had considered lockers, they felt it was the right time as they needed a more organised alternative to pegs and benches. The spaces they wanted the lockers to be located at were extremely challenging as there were pipes, uneven walls and floors to deal with. They also required a colour scheme that was smart and contemporary, whilst complimenting their school colours perfectly. They opted for sloping tops on the lockers, so the lockers didn't accumulate clutter on top.

The Solution:

The first thing we did was to survey the proposed areas, to ensure it was feasible to install lockers in the required locations. We had to think outside the box to solve the onsite issues, but with planning we managed to fit the required number of locker compartments in all of the designated areas.

In order to get the colour scheme right, we supplied the customer with free of charge visuals to show how the lockers would look in different colours and patterns. In order to make the locker rooms cleaner and more hygienic, we also supplied stands, lifting the lockers off of the floor to aid cleaning underneath.

The end result was a clean, contempoary and functional storage system that really helped tidy up the communal areas of the school.
