At Lockertek we are proud to be different. We don't sell lockers; we sell solutions, each of which is directly tailored to our customers needs and not for our own convenience. This page demonstrates a few of our recent projects and the flexibility we offer.

Oakgrove School Milton Keynes

The locker areas at the smart and modern Oakgrove School in Milton keynes are located in under cover shelters around the school. These areas, although mainly dry, do suffer from the usual moisture effects associated with metal lockers stored outside and as such the lockers have suffered from extensive surface oxidisation (rusting).

The customer contacted us asking if we could could smarten these lockers up without the waste and expense of buying new lockers for the entire school.

Our suggestion was to clean the doors using a chemical wash and to re-powder coat the lockers to both smarten them up and to slow the spread of rust.

Our first task was to send a few locker doors away to be test coated. The results were surprisingly good and even the worst doors came back looking much smarter.

We then had the mammoth task of removing all eight hundred locker doors and locker locks before sending them to our paint plant.

A week later all the doors were returned, re-fitted and the locks re-installed and tested.

This is probably the first time this has even been attempted in the UK on this scale and on lockers that most other locker companies would have written off as beyond repair.

Lockertek MD Ashley Morrison commented "Just because a project isn't simple it doesn't mean it can't be done"

Minster In Sheppey Primary School

When Minster in Sheppey Primary School in Kent contacted us looking for something completely out of the ordinary we jumped at the chance to get creative.

The customers brief was simple; to create various useable storage areas that looked less like locker rooms and more like a smart colourful feature.

For the younger children's area we used a standard 1275mm low level locker with randomly selected door colours. To make the area more interesting we arranged the lockers into different run shapes and worked with the headteacher to place the school lockers in such a way to assist the flow of foot traffic to each classroom.

For the older year groups we really had to think outside the box. They needed bigger compartments but they wanted a funky stylish environment with bold shapes and colours.

We decided that cube modular lockers were the answer. These can be bolted together in any shape and style the user wants and offer much more flexibility than standard lockers.

The last thing a primary school needs is lockable lockers so we incorporated an easy to use hasp and staple lock which can be used as a handle to keep the locker shut when not being used.

This is a project we are especially proud of and one that highlights our attention to detail as well as our knowledge of the locker market.
